Applying for a Non-Resident Live-in Caregiver

1. Employer requests information regarding live-in caregivers.
- Employer Profile (general information about the employer and the position).
2. Employer decides to proceed with hiring a live-in caregiver.
- Employer signs recruitment agreement/ pays deposit amount.
3. Employer acquires Business Number from Canada Revenue Authority (required by individuals wishing to hire an employee). - Call 1-800-959-5525

4. We advertise for 2 weeks to ensure no qualified Canadians are available for the position.
- Employer grants authority to advertise the position on the National Job Bank on behalf of the employer.
5. Employer selects the candidate they wish to hire. - Letter from employer instructing us to proceed with hiring of candidate.

- Employment Contract between employer and live-in caregiver.
6. We submit applications and documents to Service Canada on behalf for approval to hire the caregiver. - Foreign Live-in Caregiver Application Form (application for approval to hire).

- Appointment of Representative Form (naming us as representative).

- Recruitment Report (indicating the results of the job advertising).

- Attestation of Identity Authentication (verification of employer’s identity).
7. Registration of Caregiver (B.C. only)
- Submission of Domestic Worker Registration Form.
8. Following approval to hire by Service Canada, we apply for the caregivers work permit and visa.
- Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) application forms, LMO, employment contract, passport and numerouspersonal documents of the caregiver.
9. Interviews, security & background checks, medical examinations, conducted by CIC.
- Our agents offshore assist the candidate with this process.
10. Candidate receives work permit and visa.
- We coordinate the caregiver’s arrival date with Employer and assist caregiver with travel arrangements.
